Habiganj sits on the Dhaka–Sylhet corridor, which gives it a particular character in our work: a great deal of what we do here is either a stop on a longer journey or a drop-off for a family whose village lies off the highway.
The district also has a strong British connection, especially around Nabiganj, and its own quiet attractions in the hills and forest along the southern edge.
On the way to and from Sylhet
Habiganj is roughly two-thirds of the way up the N2 from Dhaka, which makes it the natural break on a five-to-seven hour drive. If you have older relatives or small children in the car, a planned stop here works far better than pressing on.
It is also a common drop point in its own right: families landing at Dhaka airport and travelling straight to a village in Nabiganj or Baniyachong rather than continuing to Sylhet.
Industrial and business travel
The Shaistaganj and Madhabpur corridor holds a good deal of industry, and there is regular business travel between Dhaka and sites in the district.
For repeat travel we usually recommend a monthly arrangement rather than booking each journey, particularly where a vehicle needs to wait on site.
Worth a detour
Satchari National Park at Chunarughat is a compact patch of tropical forest with good short trails. The tea estates along the southern hills are less visited than Sreemangal's and are the better choice if you want them to yourself.
Baniyachong, one of the largest villages in the country, is a genuinely unusual place to spend an hour.

Habiganj district covers a lot of ground, and the upazila names people use in conversation — Bahubal, Nabiganj, Chunarughat, Baniachong, Madhabpur — cover areas rather than points. A driver given only 'Nabiganj' has been told roughly where to spend an hour looking.
What actually works is a short chain: the union, the village, the nearest bazaar or high school, and a local mobile number. Any two of those and a phone number will get a driver to a gate; the app pin alone frequently will not, because a great many rural addresses in this district simply are not mapped.
Send it at booking rather than on the day. The driver plans the last stretch beforehand, which is precisely the part of the journey where nobody wants to be improvising after dark.
