Grand Cabin (13 Seats)

A common scenario: a family group of twelve arrives from London on the same flight, each with two cases. An eleven-seat microbus is one seat short and well over its luggage limit. The Grand Cabin solves both in a single vehicle instead of splitting the party across two.

It is also the vehicle of choice for wedding guest shuttles, where the same vehicle runs repeatedly between a hotel and a venue across an evening.

This is a long vehicle. Some residential lanes, older Dhaka neighbourhoods and rural village approaches will not accommodate it comfortably.

When you enquire, tell us the exact drop-off address rather than just the town. If access is tight we will say so in advance and plan the final approach properly, rather than discovering it on the night.

The Grand Cabin is longer than a standard microbus rather than differently engineered, so its behaviour on the highway is much the same: stable, roomy, and comfortable over the five to seven hours a Dhaka–Sylhet run takes.

The rear rows sit further back over the axle and are the least comfortable seats on a long journey. If anyone travelling is elderly, prone to travel sickness or simply not going to enjoy four hours at the back, say so and the driver will seat the group accordingly before setting off.

On journeys of this length we plan a proper stop rather than pressing on. Thirteen people need facilities at different times, and a planned break costs less time than three unplanned ones.

Boarding is worth a thought too. The step into a Hiace-class vehicle is higher than a car's, and for an elderly passenger the extra length of a Grand Cabin means a longer walk down the aisle to a rear seat. Where anyone in the group would find that difficult, seat them in the front rows and tell us at booking, or consider a 7-seat MPV alongside for the people who need it.
