Executive Saloon

The executive saloon is the workhorse of car rental with driver in Bangladesh. It is the car most people mean when they say rent a car locally: a modern, quiet, air-conditioned saloon with a driver who knows the city, booked by the day, the month or the single journey.

It comfortably seats three passengers. In practice most people travel one or two up with luggage, which is where this class is at its best — enough boot space for two large cases without moving up to a larger vehicle and its running costs.

For city driving this class is ideal. Narrow lanes, tight parking and heavy traffic all favour a compact saloon, and it will get into places a microbus simply cannot.

This class seats four adults plus the driver on paper. We quote it for three, and the reason is luggage rather than seats.

The boot on a Corolla-class saloon takes two large cases comfortably and a third at a squeeze. Four passengers arriving on an international flight will have more than that between them, and the difference gets discovered at the kerb with the boot open — which is the worst possible moment.

For a business traveller with a suitcase and a laptop bag, this is exactly the right car and the extra capacity is irrelevant. For a family arriving from abroad, it is not, and we will say so when you send the numbers.
