Why a private car works better than the alternatives here
Bangladesh's most rewarding places are rarely near its transport hubs. Ratargul swamp forest, the tea gardens around Sreemangal, the stone beds at Jaflong and the haor country north of Sunamganj all need road transport and local knowledge to reach comfortably.
A private vehicle also solves the timing problem. Sunrise over the tea estates and late-afternoon light on the haors are the reasons to go — neither fits a scheduled service.

What a driver is and is not
Our drivers are professional drivers with strong local road knowledge. Many will happily point out what you are passing and recommend where to stop.
They are not licensed tour guides, and we will not pretend otherwise. If you want interpretation of history and heritage, hire a guide alongside the vehicle — we can travel with one you have arranged.
How a multi-day booking actually works
A few practical points, because they are the questions people ask once they are committed rather than before.
The driver stays with you for the duration. On overnight trips his accommodation is arranged and appears as an allowance in the quote, stated upfront rather than raised at the end. His meals are his own. Days have a reasonable working length — a sunrise start and a late return is a normal touring day; a sunrise start followed by a late dinner run every day for a week is not, and we would rather agree the shape of the days at booking than have it become awkward on day four.
Within that, the itinerary is genuinely yours. Change the plan on the morning, stay somewhere longer, skip something — none of that needs renegotiating.

Is it better to hire a car with a driver or use local transport in Bangladesh?
For sightseeing, a private car is substantially better. The best destinations are away from transport hubs, roads are hard to navigate without local knowledge, and the good light for photography rarely aligns with scheduled services.
Can one driver take us across several cities?
Yes. A single vehicle and driver across a multi-day itinerary is usually cheaper and far less hassle than arranging separately in each town.
When is the best season to travel by road in Bangladesh?
October to March is the most comfortable and reliable for road travel. The monsoon between June and September is beautiful, especially in the haor country, but some rural routes become difficult and an SUV is a sensible choice.
Does the driver stay with us on a multi-day trip?
Yes. His accommodation is arranged and shown as an allowance in the quote rather than raised later, and his meals are his own. Days run to a reasonable length, which we agree at booking rather than leaving to become awkward mid-trip.
